Position: Assistant Controller-Relocation offered
Locations: Troy, MI or Ludington, MI (Relocation Assistance Available)
Salary: 85,000-110,000
About the Opportunity
A growing global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance leadership team. This role partners closely with the Controller to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and internal controls. The position offers visibility across the organization and the opportunity to contribute to strategic financial initiatives within a complex manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Perform account reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and strengthen internal control processes.
- Analyze financial data and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
- Assist with federal, state, and local tax-related reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.
- Participate in special projects and other finance initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ability to analyze financial data and communicate findings effectively.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
