PPS has an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Controller. This position is based out of our Phoenix, AZ facility. The Assistant Controller will work closely with Vice President of Finance to ensure timely and accurate reporting, adherence of internal controls, development and training or policies and procedures.
Essential Functions
- Oversees, coordinates and assists with financial activities and personnel associated with:
- Shipping
- Accounts receivable
- Account payable
- Invoicing
- General ledger
- Inventory
- Payroll
- Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques.
- Conduct internal audits to assess financial status.
- Assisting the VP of Finance in preparing timely financial statements
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Responsible for preparing and analyzing certain financial results.
- Analyze and complete account reconciliations timely and accurately.
- Develops and explains accounting policies, procedures and control processes to ensure that policies are clear and understood by all.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports for operational review and decision-making.
- Provide accounting assistance to business managers as needed throughout the company.
- Identifies solutions to discrepancies in financial records.
- Assist with developing controls and budgets to mitigate risk and increase return on investments.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
- 3-5 years in accounting role with supervisory oversite.
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Deadline and detail-oriented.
- Able to work independently and manage various projects proactively, while communicating status proactively.
- Experience in Microsoft Suite of software to include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
