Unity Search has partnered with a DFW-based, PE-backed distribution company in its search for an Assistant Controller. This person will work hand in hand with the VP of Accounting & the CFO to perform all accounting and reporting functions for the firm. This person must have a CPA license and demonstrate strong full cycle accounting, leadership, and transformation experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Own the general ledger end to end, including controls and oversight for journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and related ledger activities.
Manage a group of Senior Accountants and Accounting Managers across daily and month-end activities, making sure work meets GAAP standards
Coach and support accounting team members, building a collaborative, high-performing culture.
Examine financial data for trends and variances, and translate findings into insights that inform business decisions.
Consistently identify opportunities to streamline processes across finance and accounting.
This will be a hybrid role with ample flexibility. Compensation for this role will depend on experience but will likely fall in the $175K to $200k range + Bonus.
