Job Details

As an Assistant Controller, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to:

1. Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable standards.
2. Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency, effective control, and compliance with US GAAP, SEC rules, and other regulatory bodies.
3. Assist in the management of internal and external audits, coordinating with auditors to ensure efficient completion of the audit process.
4. Provide technical accounting guidance and support to other departments, interpreting and implementing new or existing accounting standards.
5. Collaborate with the Controller in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
6. Participate in special projects and initiatives as required, providing financial expertise and contributing to cross-functional teams.
7. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or MBA would be an added advantage.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the Energy industry.
4. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and technical accounting principles.
5. Proven experience in managing audits, preparing financial statements, and filing regulatory reports.
6. Exceptional leadership skills, with a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
9. Proficiency in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
10. High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
