Assistant Controller (Controller Track) - Manufacturer in Miami, FL 

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join the headquarters finance team of an established, chemical manufacturing and water-treatment company in Miami. 
This is a high-impact opportunity for an accounting professional with strong technical skills, a hands-on approach, and the ability to work across a complex, multi-entity organization. The role offers direct exposure to senior leadership and a defined opportunity to develop toward a future Controller position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities.

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial statements.

• Oversee accounting activities across legal entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting.

• Maintain compliance with GAAP and established internal controls.

• Partner with manufacturing, distribution, and other operational teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial visibility.

• Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.

• Work closely with finance leadership on ongoing business and accounting priorities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant financial close and general ledger responsibility.

• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls.

• Experience managing accounting across multiple entities, business units, or locations.

• Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems; Acumatica is a plus.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with both finance and operational leadership.

• Manufacturing, chemical production, distribution, transportation, or other multi-location industry experience preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

$130K-$160K base salary dependent on experience
