    Assistant Controller 

    Job Summary  

    The Assistant Controller plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization. We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented assistant controller to work under the direction of a controller and assist with the preparation of financial statements, budget reports, and internal control systems. The assistant controller's duties also include managing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, maintaining general ledger, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial audits. You must be able to work independently and with the highest levels of integrity. 

     

    Responsibilities

    Preparing and consolidating financial statements and reports. 

    Preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports 

    Assisting with the development and evaluation of budgets and preparing budget reports. 

    Supporting the formulation and implementation of control systems within the organization. 

    Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, identifying discrepancies, and reconciling accounts. 

    Supporting the accounting department with all aspects of the general ledger. 

    Preparing and managing accounts using various software programs. 

    Preparing and assisting with audits. 

    Reconcile bank accounts 

    Track and record fixed asset transactions 

    Oversees 1099 preparation and remittance. 

    Contributes to various projects/business case analysis as needed. 

    Adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality policies and procedures 

     

    Other Functions

    Reviews company email on at least a daily basis in order to receive and address notifications and/or other pertinent information in a timely manner. 

    Any other duties as requested or assigned by the Controller, Chief Financial Officer and/or other management representative. 

    May be required to travel to other location(s) dependent on company need. 

    Work hours may fluctuate depending on company needs. 

     

    Minimum Job Requirements: 

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required 

    Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience. 

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Excel. Experience with Great Plains accounting applications is a plus. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required. Strong attention-to-detail skills, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills essential.
