Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Wrestling Coach to support our head coach in running a competitive, safe, and positive high school wrestling program. The assistant coach will play a key role in technique instruction, practice execution, wrestler development across all experience levels, and match-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Practice Support: Assist in designing and leading daily practices, drill sets, conditioning workouts, and technical instruction.
Student Development: Provide direct, hands-on coaching to varsity, junior varsity, and freshman wrestlers to build fundamental skills, mat awareness, and sportsmanship.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce NFHS weight management guidelines, skin check protocols, mat sanitation routines, and general safety standards during all team activities.
Event Operations: Assist with mat setup/teardown for home meets, scorekeeping, stat tracking, and athlete supervision during team travel and weekend tournaments.
Program Leadership: Serve as a positive role model, reinforce academic standards, and temporarily lead practices or sub-varsity meets in the Head Coach's absence.
Schedule & Compensation
Season Duration: Winter season (November through February), including weekday afternoon practices, dual meets, and weekend tournaments).
Compensation: Paid via the district athletic coaching stipend schedule.
