Summary
Bonney Lake High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Coach for the Girls Soccer program for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for soccer and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. This seasonal position requires collaboration with the head coach and a focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and implementing effective practice sessions and game strategies.
- Provide instruction and support to student-athletes during practices and games.
- Help in the recruitment and retention of players, fostering a love for the sport and encouraging participation.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement.
- Promote teamwork and sportsmanship among players, encouraging a positive team culture.
- Assist with organizing team events, including fundraisers, team meetings, and community outreach.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team matters.
- Adhere to all school and district policies, as well as rules set forth by relevant athletic associations.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience or significant playing experience in soccer, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other coaching staff.
- Commitment to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the season).
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during the soccer season.
- A high school diploma or equivalent; college degree in a related field is a plus.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
