After-School Assistant Site Director 

Position Summary

The Assistant Site Director assists the Site Director in leading the daily operations of the after-school program serving between 200-260 elementary-aged students. This position supports staff supervision, student engagement, program quality, safety, and compliance with company policies and Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily program operations and staff supervision.
  • Ensure student safety through active supervision, attendance tracking, and accurate headcounts.
  • Support engaging activities including homework assistance, active play, STEAM, enrichment, and free exploration.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, school personnel, and staff.
  • Support positive behavior management and conflict resolution.
  • Assist with maintaining required documentation and licensing compliance.
  • Help plan and support special events, trainings, and program activities.
  • Serve as acting site leader in the absence of the Site Director.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working with school-age children in a licensed childcare, after-school, camp, recreation, or educational setting required.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or program coordination experience required.
  • Must currently meet, or be eligible to meet, Texas Child Care Licensing qualifications for a Site Director in a licensed before- and after-school program.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet all licensing requirements.
  • Reliable personal transportation is required

Mandatory Work Schedule

 

Monday–Friday (required), following the assigned school's academic calendar. Typical hours range from 2:00 PM–6:30 PM; additional or adjusted hours may be required for meetings, trainings, special events, school breaks, or program needs.

Site Director/ Program Director

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and participate in program activities.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Compensation

Starting Pay: $21.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated performance.

After successful completion of the probationary period, employees may be eligible for the Co-Site Director position and a flat-rate compensation structure based on site enrollment, program needs, job performance, and continued eligibility for the role.
