Description

Position: Assistant Clinical Resource Manager

Reports to: Clinical Resource Manager

Classification: Full time, non-exempt (hourly)

Compensation: $22-23/hour (pay differentials for IV placement, ultrasound skills, and bilingual abilities available)

Location: Granite City, Illinois

Job Summary

The Assistant Clinical Resource Manager works directly under the Clinical Resource Manager to facilitate high quality, efficient, and compliant clinic operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Have a firm working knowledge of and ability to perform all job duties of a Patient Care Assistant.

  • Assist with the oversight of the clinical schedule of Clinical Assistants/Patient Care Assistants. This includes collaboration with other departments and arranging coverage for staff due to planned and unplanned absences.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Resource Manager to manage clinical staffing throughout the working day; including assisting with staff assignments, organizing cross coverage with other departments, and ensuring appropriate break and lunch times are given.

  • Act as a manager on duty in the absence of or at the delegation of the Clinical Resource Manager.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Resource Manager, provider(s), and other departments, as needed, to ensure medically safe and efficient patient flow throughout the building.

  • Ensure staff are adhering to clinical protocols and clinic policies.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Resource Manager to ensure staff are adequately trained and proficient in required skills; this includes assisting with scheduling, completing, and evaluating training, as well as regular job performance reviews. Inter-departmental work and training is essential in this role.

  • Supervise and manage staff during emergency situations. This includes having a working knowledge of and understanding practical applications of both medical and other emergency protocols.

  • In collaboration with Clinical Resource Manager oversee operational aspects of clinical care including (but not limited to):

  • Maintain clinical spaces in the building including cleanliness, adherence to infection control protocols, and ensure facility maintenance is reported/completed when needed.

  • Ensure that clinical supplies are available, stocked and well organized in clinical areas.

  • Ensure that medical equipment is in working order and oversee necessary repairs and preventive maintenance.

  • Adequate set up and preparation for pre/intra/post procedure care daily

  • Adequate clean up and closing protocols are followed at the end of the day

  • Adequate sterilization of instruments including staff adherence to clinic protocols, autoclave function and maintenance, and biologic (spore) testing.

  • Oversee the maintenance of clinical logs

  • Oversee medical waste handling, storage, and pick up

  • Ensure adherence to OSHA standards and that adequate staff uniforms, hand hygiene supplies, and PPE are stocked and readily available

  • Collaborate with Clinical Resource Manager to review candidates, screen, interview and select candidates during the hiring process.

  • Foster a team working environment rooted in Hope Clinic's mission and values.

  • Function and perform duties with the constraints of state and federal regulation and ensure clinical compliance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong computer skills with experience utilizing electronic medical records.
  • A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.

Working Conditions

  • This position operates in an outpatient office setting. Working spaces will include exam rooms, procedure rooms and recovery room.
  • OSHA Blood borne Pathogen Exposure Determination: Based on the OSHA guidelines for protection against occupational exposure to hepatitis B virus (HBV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HlV), this position includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear in person, on the telephone, and via web conference. Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens, is necessary. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires the ability to frequently lift and move patients.
  • This role requires both standing and sitting.
