The Department of Anatomy, Physiology, and Pharmacology in the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine (AUCVM) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position in small animal nutrition at the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor with an anticipated start date of May 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact with approximately 160 faculty members in the CVM and more than 1,500 faculty members in a wide range of disciplines at Auburn University

 

The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.

Responsibilities:


The successful candidate will devote their time to instruction (clinical and didactic; 50%) research (45%), and service (5%). The candidate will be expected to establish a collaborative research program and support the college’s research in metabolic diseases and intestinal microbiomics. Opportunities for research collaborations also include the Boshell Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases Research Program, the Scott-Ritchey Research Center, and the Canine Performance Sciences Program. Classroom and laboratory teaching responsibilities will include the instruction of professional students and opportunities to interface with graduate students and house officers across multiple disciplines. Clinical service will include consultation on nutrition cases in Auburn’s Wilford and Kate Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital. Teamwork is highly valued and candidates are expected to demonstrate institutional engagement that includes service to committees, working groups, and professional organizations.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be eligible for faculty licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Alabama.
