General Responsibilities Summary
Assists Chief Clerk and Deputy Clerk with preparation and handling of legal and other papers and materials necessary for court proceedings by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions
include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Assists the public: greets visitors to office; answers the telephone; gives non-technical information; takes messages and/or directs caller to appropriate person.
Keeps records: maintains hardcopy court records; enters data into record keeping system; maintains financial account cards; scans documents; reconciles transactions with general ledger accounts on court funds.
Provides support for court proceedings: assigns docket number, files copy and distributes copies to interested parties; assists with maintaining trial calendar; completes ACIC slip, sends to ACIC and files copy in permanent file; makes sure call sheets and docket sheets are ready for court; assists with processing court papers and documents; prepares warrants, subpoenas, summons, and other court orders as directed; prepares certified copies of court records.
Compiles information and prepares reports: assists in the preparation of operations and accounting reports for the Judge; compiles statistical information from records; prepares reports as directed.
Provides miscellaneous clerical support: prepares purchase orders for supplies and materials; assists Judge as necessary.
Relieves for Deputy Clerk in the absence of that employee.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and one year directly related experience. Experience with Contexte Case Management System is preferred.
A valid class D drivers license and a good driving record are required.
