    Description


    The City of Beaverton is seeking an Assistant City Traffic Engineer (ACTE) who will play a key role in shaping the future of traffic and transportation in the city.


    This position is in the Public Works Transportation Engineering Division and will focus on traffic design and analysis to help move forward the City Council’s priority of Safe Streets. The ACTE will be involved with every step of traffic engineering in the city—from concept development to implementation, including interacting with the Beaverton Traffic Commission and the Beaverton Planning Commission.


    The ACTE’s day-to-day involves working with both the Community Development Department and Public Works Operations to ensure that traffic flows safely and smoothly throughout the city. The role includes taking part in transportation planning projects including updating the City’s Transportation System Plan (TSP) and implementing the new Complete Streets policy. Additionally, the position supports and/or leads capital improvement projects and reviews site development plans and land use applications. This position will supervise and guide transportation staff, including Engineering Technicians and Project Engineers.
