Description
The City of South Lake Tahoe is seeking an accomplished and collaborative Assistant City Manager to help lead City operations and advance the City Council's strategic priorities.
This executive-level position assists the City Manager in directing and coordinating City operations, leading assigned service areas and special projects, developing policies and programs, managing complex budgets, and building partnerships with the community and other governmental agencies. The position also provides oversight and support for functions within the City Manager Department and may act as City Manager in the City Manager's absence.
The ideal candidate is an experienced municipal leader with strong leadership, management, communication, public speaking, budget, and administration skills. A bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field is required; a master's degree is desirable. Required experience includes ten years of progressively responsible municipal government experience, with at least five years in management and supervisory roles.
