Job Summary
The Assistant Chief Engineer supports the Campus Chief Engineer in overseeing maintenance operations for a three-hotel campus. This hands-on role helps ensure all properties are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with Hilton, Marriott, and Best Western brand standards while delivering an excellent guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily maintenance and engineering operations across all three hotels
- Supervise, train and support maintenance staff
- Perform and oversee preventive maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
- Conduct property inspections using Quore application and address safety or maintenance issues
- Maintain work orders, logs, and inventory records
- Coordinate with hotel leadership to minimize guest impact
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification preferred
- 3–5 years of hotel or commercial maintenance experience; supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs to include drywall repair and installation, painting, and other interior finish skills
- Experience using Quore
- Multi-property or multi-brand experience a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, stand, and work indoors/outdoors
