Assistant Center Director - Early Childhood Education

Salary: $65,000-$75,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Are you an experienced early childhood educator who is just as passionate about developing teachers as you are about developing children?
The Learning Experience - Worcester is looking for an Assistant Center Director who can help lead people, strengthen classroom quality, support families, and keep a busy early childhood center running successfully.
You'll work alongside the Center Director while taking an active role in staff development, center operations, curriculum quality, enrollment, family relationships, and EEC compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Center Director with daily center leadership and operations
- Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and support teaching staff
- Conduct classroom observations and provide actionable feedback
- Support staffing schedules and maintain required classroom ratios
- Ensure consistent implementation of The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Help maintain Massachusetts EEC licensing and compliance standards
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and employees
- Participate in tours and support enrollment and retention efforts
- Assist with family concerns and provide solutions in partnership with center leadership
- Maintain required operational and employee documentation
- Support center events, family engagement, and community outreach
- Serve as a leadership presence throughout the center and step in for the Center Director when needed
Qualifications
- Must meet applicable Massachusetts EEC requirements for the position
- Director I and Director II qualifications required
- Professional experience in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early childhood education program required
- Previous supervisory, management, or educational leadership experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of Massachusetts EEC regulations and early childhood best practices
- Proven ability to coach, motivate, and hold teams accountable
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
