The Orting School District is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Orting High School. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Experience preferred in coaching/participating in basketballKnowledge of basketball techniques and strategiesBe able to meet all W.I.A.A. requirements for the Washington State Coaching StandardsAbility to communicate positively and effectively with students, parents, staff and community memberEffective written and oral communication skillsStrong organizational skills necessary to support running a solid high school programSuccessful experience working with teenage athletesAbility to motivate teens to reach their highest potential academically through sportsmanshipMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Be high school graduate or have completed a graduation equivalency diploma (GED) programBe at least 19 years of age to be an assistant coachCurrent first aid and CPR trainingFlexible ScheduleMust be available immediately after school - 2:15 pmCompletion of required Vector Solutions (SafeSchools) trainings within thirty (30) days of hire/10 days before the start of the sports season. BENEFITS:For coaching positions, eligibility for benefits is determined by a number of factors, including the number of hours an employee worked during the last two (2) school years (September 1 through August 31). Coaching positions may not be benefit eligible. Benefits are administered through the Payroll Department. Additional information is available on their district webpage.
