The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) at LIU Post invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

The Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) program, in the School of Health Professions, is dedicated to preparing highly skilled graduate students for professional practice as speech-language pathologists and seeks faculty committed to excellence in teaching, mentorship, and scholarship. Our 61-credit master's program integrates rigorous academic coursework with a five-course clinical sequence, providing over 400 hours of supervised clinical training. The department also offers a strong undergraduate pre-professional program that prepares students for graduate study. The program is approved by the New York State Education Department and accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-

Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (9 credits per semester)
  • Provide academic advisement and mentorship to students
  • Participate in departmental, school, and inter-professional initiatives
  • Engage in committee service
  • Maintain an active program of research and scholarly activity

Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology or related \ufb01eld
  • Certi\ufb01cate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful candidates will be expected to engage in an ongoing program of scholarship demonstrated by a strong scholarly agenda and have a history or show potential to secure extramural funding
  • College-level teaching experience
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas:

o Pediatric speech-language development and disorders

o Diagnostics

o Stuttering
