The Assistant/Associate Professor (Series I/Series II) in the Graduate Nursing Program at MSM will contribute to teaching, research, clinical practice, and service activities. This full-time, on-site, 12-month position will work closely with the Chair and Program Director to develop and deliver course content across the didactic, clinical, and simulation curricula.
Duties include teaching, scholarship, academic advising, clinical practice, service, and professional activities. Faculty also serve on admissions, curriculum, and student progress committees and facilitate student assessment, remediation, and ongoing program evaluation. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the MSM Mission. This is a non-tenure track position, eligible for a multi-year appointment. MSM employs a time-and-effort certification to account for the professional effort of all faculty.
Faculty are responsible for a 3-3-2 teaching load (3 courses in Fall and Spring; 2 courses in Summer). Faculty operate within the MSM framework of lifelong learning through innovative teaching, learner-centered curricula, collaborative scholarship, and clinical excellence. The faculty member will participate in team-based innovative learning models, curriculum development, student mentorship, and scholarly endeavors that align with MSMs focus on health equity and serving underserved communities.

Minimum Qualifications

In lieu of teaching experience and the required nursing certification, candidates must demonstrate at least 2 years of clinical or classroom teaching in the specified field of study. Individuals with eligible licensure (e.g., MD, PharmD) must have an unencumbered Georgia license.

It is MSMs Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are encouraged to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidates offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
