Overview
The Assistant or Associate Professor plays a pivotal role in the upcoming Master of Science Program in Teaching Students with Disabilities (All Grades). Working closely with the Program Chair, the individual is responsible for designing and teaching program courses focused on PreK-12 teaching students with disabilities, and ensuring overall program effectiveness. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the professor advises and supervises master''s degree candidates, actively participates in faculty collaborative professional learning, GSE committees, and demonstrates scholarly productivity in the field of teaching students with disabilities.

Education/Experience
REQUIREMENTS:
Earned doctorate in special education or related field; ABD with anticipated conferral date within one year of hire considered
Successful PreK-12 teaching students with disabilities, with classroom teaching experience of three or more years, working with students who have individual education programs, and with diverse students
Successful experience in assessment and data use in the PreK-12 teaching of students with disabilities in the classroom, with evidence of positive learning and development for diverse groups of students
Experience using Canvas and other technology in educational settings to support effective teaching and learning in educational settings
Experience using Canvas or other learning management systems, along with a range of instructional technologies to support effective teaching and learning in educational settings
Experience in course and program design
Commitment to culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy
Demonstrated ability for scholarly productivity
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of school and community-based programs and experience building partnerships in diverse communities is highly desirable
Evidence of success as an educator preparer at the college or university level in traditional classrooms and online
Experience using Canvas and other technology in educational settings
Active involvement in professional organizations
Successful grant writing
Expertise in urban education
Experience with students with multiple special needs
