    Job Duties

    The Department of Psychology at Virginia Military Institute (VMI) invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, with appointment commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    The selected candidates will teach undergraduate psychology courses as well as a course in VMI’s core leadership curriculum. Areas of specialization within psychology are open. Applicants from any area of psychology are encouraged to apply. Experience teaching or conducting research related to leadership, ethics, organizations, or human performance is welcomed but not required.

    Appointments begin in August 2027.

    Minimum Qualifications

    A Ph.D. in Psychology is preferred; advanced ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates who have not completed the doctorate at the time of application should indicate the anticipated date of dissertation defense in their cover letter.

    The doctorate must be completed prior to the start of employment.
