McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston invites applications for a full-time, Assistant/Associate/Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Critical Care Medicine. Position Key Accountabilities: The selected candidate will contribute to all aspects of the Pediatric Critical Care Division. The educational mission is accomplished by teaching our critical care fellows, pediatrics, medicine-pediatrics, and emergency medicine residents, and the medical students at McGovern School of Medicine. The expectation is to be actively involved with research and also with quality improvement projects that will improve the care of our patients. Clinical care is provided at the Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital, where our division staffs the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and is located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. Pediatric critical care medicine physicians provide twenty-four-hour, in-house coverage in a multi-disciplinary, twenty-two-bed PICU with comprehensive services for a wide variety of critically ill medical and surgical patients. Medical and surgical subspecialties from all disciplines are immediately available in the PICU. Areas of subspecialty expertise include respiratory failure, sepsis, mitochondrial diseases, solid organ transplantation, trauma and pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, and ENT. Furthermore, the PICU has available advanced treatment modalities such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for neonatal and pediatric respiratory and cardiac failure and renal replacement therapies. Qualifications: Must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Must be board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and be able to obtain a Texas Medical License.
