Position Summary The Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at the Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Geneticist in an academic track at the Assistant Associate or Professor level. The desired candidate will hold an MD and have expertise in clinical genetics in the treatment of both children and adults with genetic disorders. ABMGG board certification or board eligibility is required. The successful candidate will be expected to perform scholarly activities and demonstrate academic productivity. The individual will also contribute to the teaching mission including genetic counseling students graduate students medical students and clinical genetic residents.Clinical track faculty are responsible for the teaching and service mission of the school.Service The primary responsibility of this position is clinical service in medical genetics. Clinical providers within the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics include 12 medical geneticists ~ 40 clinical genetic counselors and 5 nurse practitioners. Physicians with a broad background in medical genetics are sought to continue the expansion of our service. Interest in skeletal dysplasia adult or pediatric cancer genetics adult genetics is advantageous but not required.Teaching This position will also contribute to the teaching mission including genetic counseling students graduate students medical students and clinical genetic residents.Research The Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics is involved in clinical trials and registries particularly in the areas of inborn errors of metabolism Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and cardiovascular genetics. Participation in clinical trials is not required but may be considered depending on applicant background.
