Preference will be given to individuals who have completed an ASCRS- or AAO-approved cornea fellowship.This full-time faculty position offers opportunities for clinical practice, research, teaching, and leadership. Academic rank ( Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will be based on experience and accomplishments. We are particularly interested in a mid- or senior-career ophthalmologist with a strong clinical and academic record who is eager to develop an established cornea/anterior segment program.The successful candidate will have to develop a meaningful research program, with departmental support for scholarly and investigative work. The successful candidate will develop and maintain a busy clinical practice in Cornea/Anterior Segment at our primary Texas Medical Center (TMC) location. The position offers the opportunity to work with a broad patient population and collaborate with faculty across the Department of Ophthalmology and McGovern Medical School.Academic responsibilities include teaching and supervising ophthalmology residents and fellows, participating in departmental educational activities, and pursuing scholarly work. Depending on experience and interests, the successful candidate may also have opportunities for clinical, educational, or departmental leadership. Other clinical and educational responsibilities may include supervising residents and/or fellows at Lyndon B.
