A well-established organization is seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager to support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and general accounting activities across multiple entities. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role and is looking to take the next step in their career while working closely with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and intercompany account reconciliations for multiple entities
- Support the monthly close process, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and adjusting entries
- Prepare consolidated monthly financial statements, management reports, and weekly financial scorecards
- Manage and support Accounts Receivable activities, including customer inquiries and account resolution
- Oversee Accounts Payable processes and monthly credit card coding and reconciliations
- Assist with cost analysis and financial reporting related to manufacturing operations
- Support year-end close activities and coordinate information and documentation with external CPA partners
- Assist with preparation of annual tax return documentation and required state/local tax reporting
- Process and monitor banking transactions, including wires and other financial activity
- Maintain accurate intercompany records and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and business information
- Represent the organization with professionalism and integrity at all times
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Hands-on month-end close experience required
- Manufacturing and/or capital equipment industry experience preferred
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems; SAP Business One experience is a plus
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to prioritize multiple deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented approach
