This is an opportunity to work alongside industry-leading healthcare communicators supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, health services, and advocacy clients that are shaping the future of healthcare.

As an AAE, you will be an integral member of a collaborative account team, helping to execute strategic communications programs that educate, engage, and inspire key stakeholders including patients, healthcare professionals, advocates, policymakers, employees, and media. You'll gain hands-on experience supporting integrated campaigns across earned media, digital and social media, thought leadership, corporate reputation, product communications, disease awareness initiatives, executive visibility, and advocacy programs.

We're looking for someone who is intellectually curious, passionate about healthcare, and excited to learn about emerging scientific innovations, healthcare trends, and the evolving media landscape. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

This role offers exceptional growth opportunities, exposure to some of the world's most recognized healthcare brands, and the chance to learn from experts across earned media, digital strategy, creative, analytics, and account management.

    What you'll do:

    • Support day-to-day client account activities, helping ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with excellence.
    • Assist in the development and execution of integrated healthcare communications programs spanning earned, owned, paid, and social channels.
    • Draft a variety of client-facing and media-facing materials, including press releases, media pitches, backgrounders, fact sheets, executive briefing documents, social content, presentations, and client reports.
    • Monitor healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and public health news to identify trends, storytelling opportunities, and potential issues that may impact clients.
    • Conduct research across disease states, therapeutic areas, competitive landscapes, healthcare policy, industry trends, and stakeholder audiences.
    • Support media relations efforts by developing media lists, tracking coverage, identifying reporter opportunities, and assisting with proactive outreach.
    • Track and analyze media and campaign performance, helping transform data into actionable insights and recommendations.
    • Participate in client meetings and internal strategy discussions, contributing ideas and learning how integrated communications programs are developed and measured.
    • Collaborate with specialists across digital, social, creative, analytics, and earned media teams to help execute integrated campaigns.
    • Support new business efforts through research, competitive audits, and proposal development.
    • Stay informed on healthcare industry developments and demonstrate curiosity about the science, innovations, and issues shaping the healthcare ecosystem.

    Experience that contributes to success:

    • At least one year of experience through internships, agency experience, or professional roles in public relations, communications, marketing, healthcare communications, or a related field.
    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Health Communications, Political Science, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex healthcare and scientific information into clear, compelling narratives.
    • Demonstrated interest in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical innovation, patient advocacy, or public health.
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
    • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and provide thoughtful insights and recommendations.
    • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn, contribute, and grow within a team environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams.
    • Familiarity with media monitoring, media database, social listening, and analytics tools such as Cision, Muck Rack, Brandwatch, Meltwater, or similar platforms is a plus.
    • Enthusiasm for working in a diverse and inclusive organization and contributing to Burson's collaborative culture and employee communities
