    Description

Shape the physical backbone of Amazon"s delivery network. As an Asset Manager with Portfolio Management, you"ll own the real estate lifecycle for the buildings that get packages to customers - managing a portfolio of 90-120 fulfillment, sortation, and delivery facilities across your region of North America.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a self-starter who thrives on autonomy, relationship-building, and solving complex real estate challenges at scale. You"ll be the face of Amazon to our landlord partners and the owner of lease compliance across your portfolio.

    Why you"ll love it here:

    • Own a meaningful portfolio with real autonomy and decision-making authority
    • Work at the intersection of real estate, operations, and one of the world"s most dynamic logistics networks
    • Join a collaborative, people-first team that invests in your growth
    • Position is fully remote
    • Travel: Travel is required (25% or less) within your assigned region for property inspections, resolving real estate challenges, and strengthening relationships between Amazon and our landlord partners. Occasional travel to Amazon hubs in Seattle, WA; Nashville, TN; Arlington, VA; or Miami, FL will be required for team meetings and company events.

    Key job responsibilities

    What you"ll do:

    • Manage a regional portfolio of 90-120 leased and owned operations locations across the full asset lifecycle, with assets located in the southern United States (preference will be given to candidates living in this region)
    • Drive lease compliance by implementing Amazon and industry best practices across your sites
    • Build and maintain strong landlord relationships - you"ll be Amazon"s primary point of contact
    • Solve complex real estate challenges by partnering across diverse internal and external stakeholder groups
    • Combine real estate expertise with sharp problem-solving to protect and optimize Amazon"s interests

    A day in the life

No two days look the same in Asset Management. You might start your morning reviewing lease compliance obligations across your portfolio, then jump on a call with a landlord to resolve a maintenance dispute or negotiate a site condition issue. Midday could find you on the road, conducting a property inspection at one of your fulfillment, sortation, or delivery sites - walking the building, documenting conditions, and spotting risks before they become problems. In the afternoon, you"ll partner with internal stakeholders across operations, facilities, finance, and legal to solve complex real estate challenges and keep your sites running smoothly. Throughout it all, you"re the owner of your region - making decisions, building relationships, and protecting Amazon"s interests across 90-120 locations. You"ll balance competing priorities, think on your feet, and apply both real estate expertise and sharp problem-solving to every situation. If you"re energized by autonomy, variety, and real ownership of a meaningful portfolio, this is the role for you.

    About the team

You"ll join the Portfolio Management team within Amazon"s Global Operations & Engineering Services (GOES) organization - the group responsible for managing the real estate assets behind Amazon"s North America operations network. Our mission is to protect and optimize the buildings that move packages to customers, spanning fulfillment centers, sortation centers, delivery stations, and the supporting infrastructure that keeps the network running. We own the full asset lifecycle - lease administration and compliance, landlord relationship management, site condition assessments, capital planning, and portfolio optimization - bringing real estate discipline and industry best practices to one of the world"s most dynamic logistics networks. We"re a collaborative, people-first team that invests in developing our people, distributes work thoughtfully, and gives every team member real ownership of their region. If you want to make a measurable impact on how Amazon manages its physical footprint - and grow alongside a team that values autonomy, problem-solving, and continuous improvement - this is where you"ll do it.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
