Asset Manager – Affordable Housing


We are seeking an Affordable Housing Asset Manager to oversee and optimize a national portfolio of workforce and affordable housing assets. This role is responsible for executing asset management best practices, driving performance against business plans, and monitoring third-party property managers to ensure financial, operational, and compliance objectives are met. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment with direct accountability for results.


Responsibilities:


  • Analyze property performance, cash flow, valuation, and market trends
  • Execute underwritten business plans and monitor performance against budgets and forecasts
  • Lead budgeting, reforecasting, variance analysis, and KPI tracking
  • Oversee third-party property managers and ensure reporting accuracy and execution
  • Develop and maintain quarterly asset management plans
  • Conduct property inspections to assess operations, capital needs, and compliance
  • Communicate asset performance clearly to internal stakeholders
  • Maintain compliance with LIHTC, HUD, and other regulatory requirements
  • Build and manage relationships with lenders, investors, housing agencies, and partners


Qualifications:

?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of Asset Management experience within multifamily real estate, affordable housing strongly preferred
  • LIHTC and/or HUD experience strongly preferred
  • Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
  • Experience with Yardi, RealPage, Smartsheets, AIM, or similar systems
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented
