This organization operates within the real estate development space, and the Asset Management Manager's focus will be on affordable housing and regulatory compliance. Working closely with a team that is deeply engaged in Asset Portfolio Analysis and Property Management partnerships, this Manager will help lead the way for long-term financial sustainability of affordable housing communities. Growth initiatives include new developments, refinancing strategies, and ongoing portfolio optimization.

The Manager Asset Management reports to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborates closely with property management partners, development leadership, and external stakeholders such as lenders and regulatory agencies. This individual operates as a senior-level contributor with strong ownership of portfolio performance and works cross-functionally with accounting, compliance, and development teams to ensure each asset meets financial and operational goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee Asset Management and Property Accounting performance across a diverse real estate portfolio, with a focus on long-term financial health

  • Lead Asset Portfolio Analysis including budgeting, variance analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling for multifamily housing assets

  • Partner closely with property management teams to evaluate operational performance and drive NOI improvements and cost efficiency initiatives

  • Manage refinancing strategies, reserve planning, and capital improvement initiatives to protect and enhance asset value

  • Evaluate partnership agreements, investor requirements, and financing structures including tax credit and government-funded programs

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agreements, lender covenants, and affordable housing program requirements

  • Prepare and present portfolio performance reports to executive leadership, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations

  • Support new development efforts by underwriting acquisitions, reviewing pro formas, and advising on long-term asset strategy

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen internal processes, elevate reporting quality, and enhance portfolio management capabilities

  • Mentor and guide internal stakeholders on asset management best practices, financial acumen, and performance optimization

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience in Property Accounting, Asset Accounting, or Asset Management within real estate, multifamily housing, or development environments

  • Background working with affordable housing programs such as tax credits, HUD, or similar regulated funding structures

  • Ability to perform complex Asset Portfolio Analysis and translate financial data into strategic decisions

  • Exposure to Property Management collaboration and oversight across multiple sites or portfolios

  • Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities

  • Experience reviewing partnership structures, regulatory agreements, and lender requirements

  • Comfortable navigating cross-functional collaboration with accounting, development, and operations teams

  • Driven to grow into a strategic leader within Portfolio Management and real estate finance
