    Asset Analyst

    Department: Asset Management

    Reports To: Sr. Dir Finance Operations and Asset Management

    Position Summary

    The Asset Analyst is responsible for the financial management and performance analysis of Bennett's fleet assets, including trucks and trailers. This position oversees lease-purchase programs, asset purchase and sales, and financial reporting to ensure Bennett's equipment portfolio remains profitable.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Asset Acquisition, Lease & Sales Management
    • Oversee the purchase, lease, and sale of all trucks, trailers, and related equipment within the Bennett family of companies from a financial perspective.
    • Create Formstack's to movement of assets
    • Create Purchase Orders for all Capital purchasing
    • Manage Refurbs
    • Manage all lease-purchase programs, ensuring contracts are financially sound and structured in the best interest of both ProLease and CTL and the lessee.
    • Monitor the life cycle of assets to determine the optimal time for replacement or sale.
    • Maintain accurate financial and operational records for all company-owned assets.
    • Financial Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare monthly reports on asset financial performance, including profit and loss (P&L) by equipment type.
    • Track and analyze key performance indicators such as RPM (Revenue per Mile), MPG (Miles per Gallon), utilization, cost per mile, and return on investment (ROI).
    • Provide recommendations on fleet replacement schedules, asset profitability, and capital planning.
    • Manage cost per unit to ensure proper life cycles are maintained
    • Asset Management & Compliance
    • Maintain an accurate asset inventory across all divisions within AS400 compared to Oracle.
    • Potentially help develop a single source document for operations and finance to utilize.
    • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Develop annual capital budget that includes additions / replacements.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
    • Serve as the central point of contact for all asset financial matters across Bennett Motor Express, Bennett Heavy & Specialized, and other Bennett divisions.
    • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Fleet Services to improve asset utilization.

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Asset profitability and ROI
    • Accuracy and timeliness of asset financial reporting
    • Improvement in RPM, MPG, and utilization metrics
    • Compliance with asset budget and replacement schedules

    Education

    Business degree or related preferred but not required.
