    Assembly & Test Technician

    Location: Batavia, IL
    Employment Type: Long-Term Contract

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an Assembly & Test Technician for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Batavia, IL. This position will support instrumentation systems through the fabrication, assembly, wiring, installation, testing, and documentation of electrical components and assemblies.

    The ideal candidate will have hands-on electrical assembly experience, strong soldering skills, and the ability to read and work from electrical schematics and drawings.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Fabricate, assemble, install, and remove electrical components, parts, and sub-assemblies.

    • Wire custom control and interface boxes based on electrical schematics, drawings, and written or verbal instructions.

    • Perform cable assembly, routing, layout, and termination into terminal blocks and connectors.

    • Support instrumentation interfaces, readouts, and related electrical systems.

    • Perform soldering and other electrical assembly activities as required.

    • Use hand and power tools to complete fabrication, assembly, and installation work.

    • Maintain accurate written documentation of completed work and system modifications.

    • Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and other team members to complete assignments safely and accurately.

    Qualifications

    • Previous soldering experience required.

    • Demonstrated ability to read and work from electrical schematics commonly used for industrial control systems or equivalent applications.

    • Experience with electrical wiring, cable assembly, connectors, and terminal blocks preferred.

    • Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.

    • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    • Ability to work from a ladder as required.

    • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
