Job Title: Assembly Technician – Urgently Hiring!
Pay: $21–$23/hour, depending on experience and skill level
Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday (1st Shift)
Start Date: ASAP, within the next 1–2 weeks
Duration: Temporary assignment for approximately 3–4 weeks, with potential for temp-to-hire
Location: Saco, ME
We are seeking an Assembly Technician for our client, a specialized manufacturer located in Saco, Maine. This hands-on position involves fitting, assembling, finishing, and inspecting precision components while ensuring all parts meet quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical or technical background, excellent attention to detail, and pride in producing high-quality work.
Please note: U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to ITAR-controlled aerospace and defense work. All roles have access to the production floor. Employees must follow applicable safety and confidentiality requirements.
As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for:
Installing helicoils and pins using manual and automatic hand tools.
Deburring, polishing, and breaking edges using hand tools, blast cabinets, and tumbling machines.
Assisting with specialty spray coatings and painting.
Fitting and assembling components while verifying dimensions and alignment.
Cleaning, inspecting, and pressure-testing parts.
Identifying, tagging, and reporting nonconforming parts to a supervisor.
Supporting Shipping and Receiving with packaging, documentation, and part identification.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Following all quality standards, safety procedures, and company policies.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
U.S. citizenship (required).
Availability to work the full Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule and start as soon as possible.
A mechanical or technical background, such as machine shop, manufacturing, automotive, maintenance, or trade school experience.
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
Good hand dexterity for working with small parts and tools.
The ability to follow instructions, work to specifications, and maintain consistent quality.
A dependable, self-motivated attitude and commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience assembling or deburring machined metal parts.
Ability to read blueprints and follow print specifications.
Experience using rotary or vibrating hand tools, such as a Dynafile or Dremel.
Physical Requirements & PPE
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity when handling small parts and tools.
Safety glasses are required.
