Job Title: Assembly Technician - Mesa, Arizona

Dynalectric-Arizona, a specialty contractor serving the electrical construction needs of our community, is stepping into the Fabrication space with the purpose of fabricating select product families entirely in house. We have purchased and are setting up various pieces of CNC equipment for our shop including routers, punches, lasers, press brakes, plate rolls, welders, and automated material storage systems. We are looking for an enthusiastic, technically minded person with Assembly experience and a desire to grow to join our tight-knit team and serve as an Assembly Technician.

Objective

As an Assembly Technician you will be tasked with the final assembly of our products prior to shipping. Assembly is the last line of defense to catch any defects and is critical to our success. You will work closely with the other production departments to ensure the quality of our products and point out areas we can improve on. Keeping the assembly Cell running smooth is essential to keeping our internal and external customers happy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assembling Product:

• Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot all equipment in the Assembly cell
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and use various tools for assembly
• Manage detailed inventory and highlight any issues in the supply chain
• Select the correct details for part being assembled
• Search out and suggest better methods and tooling for the assembly process
• Manipulating products using lifting devices and automatic equipment
• Electronically document/track status of work and finished product

Quality Control:

• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and print specifications
• Test final assembly for proper fit up and functioning

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with fabrication to improve the quality of parts and ease of assembly
• Work closely with production control to understand production requirements
• Communicate effectively with team members and management

Learning and Development:

• Stay updated with the latest techniques and technologies applicable to your equipment and role
• Stay up to date on new tooling, fixturing and assembly practices
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Perform regular maintenance on equipment in the cell
• Diagnose and resolve issues with equipment, and coordinate with management as required

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines of Dynalectric and the equipment fabrication
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

Other Duties:

• Perform other duties as required
• Cross training in other areas to help support production requirements

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand assembly instructions
• Ability to use multiple different tools and techniques in the assembly process
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn and grow with the company
• Experience in active fabricating facilities
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment
• Technical literacy in use of computers
• Ability to follow the policies and practices used in the fabricating industry
• Ability to set long-term goals, communicate them to others, and pursue them to completion
• Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals
• Must have valid driver license/insurance and reliable transportation

Physical Demands

An Assembly Technician is required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This is a shop-based job. Typical working hours may vary but generally, Monday - Friday during normal business hours. When deadlines approach longer hours, including some weekend work, may be required. Some travel may be required for training/continuing education.
