    Position Summary:
     
    The Assembly Technician III is tasked with completing both basic and complex assemblies on a daily basis with minimal direction from the Custom Solutions Supervisor.  A Level III Technician should be proficient in Tube Bending, Basic Leak Testing, and Orbital Welding. A Level III Technician should also be able to assist Customers, Custom Solutions Engineers or Technical Advisors with system layout and technical questions.  They should be able to meet minimum productivity expectations while maintaining a focus of Customer Confidence to ensure customers receives fully compliant products on time and without issues.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Independently complete a wide range of mechanical assemblies, from basic to complex, following established procedures and safety protocols
    • Proficiently perform tube bending, instrumentation & tubing assembly installation
    • Provide technical assistance to customers, Custom Solutions Engineers, and Technical Advisors regarding system designs and assembly requirements
    • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and assembly instructions
    • Ensure quality standards are met throughout the assembly process
    • Package completed assemblies accurately and prepare orders for delivery
    • Enter and update production order information in the company’s business system
     
    Tool and Equipment Use:
    • Safely operate and maintain a variety of equipment and tools, including:
      • Orbital welding machines
      • Compressed gas systems
      • Powered industrial tools (electric saws, tube facing tools, drills)
      • Specialized shop tools required for certified assemblies
     
     
    Business Systems & Tools:
    • SAP, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams
    • SolidWorks – For reviewing and understanding technical drawings and system layouts
     
    Certification Requirements
     
    Minimum Swagelok Certfication Requirements to obtain within
     
    • Orbital Welding
    • Orbital Welding Examiner
    • Thermoplastic Hose Assembly
    • Tube Fitting and Tube Adapter Assembly (all sizes) & Fitting Reassembly
    • Threaded Fitting Assembly
    • Industrial Pressure Gauge Filling
    • VCR/VCO Face Seal End Connection Assembly
    • Automated Ball Valve Assembly
    • Hand Tube Bending
    • Bench Top Tube Bending
    • Bubble Leak Testing
    • Additional certifications as needed
     
     
    Position Requirements:
     
    Education: High School Diploma
     
    Experience: Minimum of 7 years assembly experience building complex assemblies preferred.
     
    Skills:
    • Mechanical aptitude
    • Basic shop math – ability to do simple calculations
    • Troubleshooting skills
    • Basic Microsoft Office computer skills
    • Basic understanding of tools including calipers and torque wrenches

    Scope of position:
     
    Physical Requirements:  Various office & warehouse environments.  While performing the duties of this job, the following are required:  Good vision – must be able to sustain effective visual examination of work over an 8-hour shift.  Lifting – may lift up to 40 pounds frequently.  Manual Dexterity – must demonstrate manual dexterity required to properly handle products, tools, and gauges.  Sitting/Standing – May be required to sit or stand 8 hours per day.  Must be able to move through the shop to pick components, move samples, and maneuver around assemblies.
