Join a small, family-like manufacturing team as an Assembly Technician, building and supporting precision pressure switches and liquid level (float) switches used in demanding environments such as aircraft, military electronics and vehicles, nuclear power plants, high-value machine tools, and railroad equipment. You will work on first shift in a clean, well-lit shop, performing detailed assembly work using hand and power tools, and developing or applying soldering skills while reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.


Responsibilities


+ Assemble small mechanical and electro-mechanical components for pressure switches and liquid level (float) switches according to blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.

+ Use hand tools and power tools to perform precise assembly tasks, ensuring components fit and function correctly.

+ Perform small tool assembly work that requires strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.

+ Learn and apply soldering techniques, or use existing soldering skills, to assemble and secure components as needed.

+ Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to correctly identify parts, assembly steps, and wiring or connection requirements.

+ Inspect assembled units for quality, accuracy, and proper operation, identifying and correcting any defects or errors.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work station to support a safe, efficient, and well-ordered shop environment.

+ Collaborate with a small shop team, communicating clearly about work status, issues, and improvement ideas.

+ Follow all shop procedures and guidelines to ensure consistent product quality and reliable performance in severe operating environments.


Essential Skills


+ 3–5 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, with the ability to use them safely and effectively.

+ Ability to read and write clearly to follow written instructions, documentation, and labels.

+ Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in small tool assembly work.

+ Good manual dexterity for handling small parts and performing fine assembly tasks.

+ Willingness to perform soldering or learn soldering as part of the role.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Prior soldering experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

+ Experience assembling mechanical or electro-mechanical products is an advantage.

+ Comfort working in a small team environment with close collaboration.

+ Ability to maintain focus and quality in a laid-back but production-oriented shop.

There is no formal dress code, and steel-toe footwear is not required. Work is performed on first shift only, providing predictable daytime hours in a collaborative, supportive environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.


Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
