Description

Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for assembly technician positions at a manufacturing company in Danbury CT. These are temp-to-hire positions.

The assembly technician performs mechanical assembly, inspection, packaging, and system-related production activities for large valve butterfly assemblies. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, safe handling of tools and equipment, and the ability to work with assemblies that may be large, heavy, and technically complex.

The first shift is 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $25 an hour.

The second shift is 3:30 p.m.-12 a.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $27 an hour.

The third shift is 10:30 p.m.-7 a.m., Sunday-Thursday. Training may be required on an earlier shift. The salary is $29 an hour.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Mechanically assemble butterfly valve products, sub-components, and finished goods according to production orders, work instructions, drawings, and inspection requirements
  • Safely operate hand tools, mechanical tools, electronic test equipment, and other manufacturing equipment required to complete assembly work
  • Inspect, verify and package sub-components and finished products in a quality-focused and schedule-conscious manner
  • Accurately pick, stage, and verify all required parts and materials needed for production orders
  • Perform required SAP transactions, label printing, testing software activities, and other basic system-related tasks as needed
  • Mount required components and accessories to complete customer-specific assembly orders
  • Execute special tasks within the assembly process, including rework, adjustments, and support activities as assigned
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient workplace, including storage areas, shared spaces, tools, and equipment
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve production, material or quality-related issues
  • Support temporary assignments as a floater in other assembly areas, teams, or shifts based on business needs
  • Provide backup support for the line leader as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Advanced education within a trades program, mechanical field, technical training program, or engineering-related area strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year prior assembly, mechanical or manufacturing experience required
  • Experience working with mechanical assemblies, valves, actuators, tools, production orders, drawings or work instructions
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment with safety, quality and delivery expectations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with technical assemblies
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, mechanical tools, electronic test equipment and manufacturing equipment
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use SAP, label printers, scan guns, testing software, and other electronic interface equipment
  • Ability to accurately follow production orders, work instructions, inspection instructions, and drawings
  • Ability to lift up to 44 lbs. and safely support handling of large or heavy assemblies using proper tools, equipment and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines while managing multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency, accountability and teamwork
  • Ability to maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
  • Flexibility to support different shifts, work areas, and temporary assignments based on business needs
  • Able to pass pre-employment screenings
