Description

Assembly Lead Technician Aircraft Manufacturing

Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30/4:00 PM, depending on workload
Overtime: May be required

Position Summary

The Assembly Lead Technician supports and coordinates daily aircraft component assembly and production activities within a manufacturing environment. This position follows detailed manufacturing processes, blueprints, and specifications to ensure finished products meet established quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with sheet metal or machined parts, deburring, riveting, measuring equipment, aircraft hardware, and component assembly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and production activities according to manufacturing instructions, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Read and accurately use calipers and other measuring equipment.

  • Properly deburr sheet metal and machined parts.

  • Interpret finish callouts and apply required surface finishes.

  • Perform rivet installation and aircraft component assembly.

  • Use basic shop and hand tools safely and effectively.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing instructions.

  • Install basic aircraft hardware according to specifications.

  • Maintain quality standards throughout the assembly process.

  • Follow all departmental safety procedures and manufacturing requirements.

  • Work effectively with team members and follow direction from supervisors and production leadership.

  • Support production priorities and additional manufacturing activities as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using basic shop and hand tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Ability to use calipers and other measuring equipment.

  • Working knowledge of deburring practices.

  • Experience or knowledge of rivet installation.

  • Basic understanding of aircraft hardware installation.

  • Familiarity with sheet metal assembly and surface finishes.

  • Basic math skills used in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and established manufacturing processes.

  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous aircraft assembly experience.

  • Previous deburring experience.

  • Experience assembling aerospace or precision-manufactured components.

  • Familiarity with aircraft sheet metal and hardware.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment.

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate equipment such as a forklift, plasma cutter, drill press, and grinders.

  • Ability to perform physical manufacturing and assembly duties throughout the shift.
