The Assembly Lead Technician supports and coordinates daily aircraft component assembly and production activities within a manufacturing environment. This position follows detailed manufacturing processes, blueprints, and specifications to ensure finished products meet established quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with sheet metal or machined parts, deburring, riveting, measuring equipment, aircraft hardware, and component assembly.
Perform assembly and production activities according to manufacturing instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
Read and accurately use calipers and other measuring equipment.
Properly deburr sheet metal and machined parts.
Interpret finish callouts and apply required surface finishes.
Perform rivet installation and aircraft component assembly.
Use basic shop and hand tools safely and effectively.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing instructions.
Install basic aircraft hardware according to specifications.
Maintain quality standards throughout the assembly process.
Follow all departmental safety procedures and manufacturing requirements.
Work effectively with team members and follow direction from supervisors and production leadership.
Support production priorities and additional manufacturing activities as needed.
Experience using basic shop and hand tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to use calipers and other measuring equipment.
Working knowledge of deburring practices.
Experience or knowledge of rivet installation.
Basic understanding of aircraft hardware installation.
Familiarity with sheet metal assembly and surface finishes.
Basic math skills used in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and established manufacturing processes.
Strong work ethic and team-oriented approach.
Previous aircraft assembly experience.
Previous deburring experience.
Experience assembling aerospace or precision-manufactured components.
Familiarity with aircraft sheet metal and hardware.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment.
Ability to operate or learn to operate equipment such as a forklift, plasma cutter, drill press, and grinders.
Ability to perform physical manufacturing and assembly duties throughout the shift.
Candidates with experience in aircraft assembly, aerospace manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication, structural assembly, riveting, deburring, or precision manufacturing should translate well into this position.
