Description
Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking an Assembly Department Supervisor on behalf of our client, a Pittsburgh-area manufacturer. This position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a fast-paced assembly operation, ensuring production, quality, safety, and delivery goals are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily assembly operations and adjust workforce schedules and assignments to meet production and delivery requirements.
- Monitor production performance, workload, attendance, and employee utilization, providing feedback and making adjustments as needed.
- Cross-train employees to improve workforce flexibility and accommodate production fluctuations.
- Monitor scrap and rework, identify root causes, and develop appropriate corrective actions.
- Utilize Lean problem-solving techniques, including 5 Whys, 3C's, Fishbone Analysis, and other continuous improvement methods.
- Conduct 5S audits and ensure identified issues are corrected.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production environment that supports efficient product flow.
- Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Materials Management, Purchasing, and other departments to support production requirements.
- Create and update part routings and rework operations to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Initiate maintenance work orders and purchase requisitions as needed.
- Help drive continuous improvement, productivity, quality, and on-time delivery throughout the department.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Previous assembly or production supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root-cause problem solving preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
