Assembler – Batting & Order Picking Position Summary

The Assembler– Batting & Order Picking position is responsible for performing a variety of warehouse, batting, order-picking, and assembly duties while maintaining established safety, quality, and productivity standards. Primary responsibilities include processing upholstery batting, replenishing batting inventory, moving finished products to designated warehouse locations, picking orders, and operating a forklift.
Once batting responsibilities are completed, the employee will assist in the Assembly area with packaging, shrink-wrapping, heat-tunnel processing, labeling, dating, and converting bulk master rolls into smaller finished products.
This position requires forklift experience, attention to detail, the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work across multiple areas of the warehouse based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities Batting & Order Picking

• Pick products and materials according to assigned orders and warehouse requirements.
• Process upholstery batting by using vacuum equipment to compress material for packaging.
• Place compressed batting into designated bags or boxes according to product and packaging requirements.
• Replenish batting bins as needed to maintain adequate inventory for production and order fulfillment.
• Move completed batting products from the batting area to their designated warehouse or storage locations.
• Verify products are placed in the correct locations and maintain an organized work area.
• Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as required.
• Wear the required seat belt at all times while operating a forklift.
• Follow all established forklift, pedestrian, and warehouse safety procedures.
• Complete required in-house forklift certification and training.
• Report equipment issues, product concerns, inventory discrepancies, and safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor.
