Assembly Technician

About the Role

We are seeking an Assembly Technician to join a manufacturing environment focused on the fabrication and assembly of composite material components. The successful candidate will perform assembly tasks by following technical drawings, blueprints, and process sheets, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained. This role involves working closely with a team to meet production deadlines while adhering to safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Study assembly instructions, blueprints, specifications, and parts lists to prepare work for assembly.
• Gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials needed for assembly tasks.
• Position components using templates or measuring tools to ensure accurate fitting.
• Assemble parts by examining connections, fastening components securely, and verifying assembly integrity.
• Measure completed assemblies to confirm specifications and tolerances are met.
• Adjust dimensions or assembly processes to resolve fitting or assembly concerns, consulting supervisors as needed.
• Perform cleaning operations on parts and maintain a tidy assembly area.
• Use hand tools such as screwdrivers and drill guns to accurately assemble components.
• Maintain inventory of materials and tools at each workstation.
• Conduct quality inspections throughout the assembly process to ensure product standards are met.
• Follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean workspace, and adhere to 5S principles.
• Control foreign object debris (FOD) and tools to prevent contamination or damage.
• Participate in internal training sessions to improve skills and knowledge.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support team objectives.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Person status is required due to export control regulations.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Basic reading skills and general computer navigation skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Effective communication skills with team members and management.
• Well-organized, flexible, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to thrive in team-oriented, deadline-driven settings.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform standing, bending, and manual handling tasks in a manufacturing setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with composite material assembly and related manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with hand-held screwdrivers, drill guns, and applying technical drawings and process sheets.
