Description

Job Title: Assembler
Location: Rock Hill, SC
Type: Contract To Hire
Work Model: Onsite
Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm

Requirements
• Between 2 to 5 years of practical experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly roles, ideally within compressor manufacturing, rotating machinery, or heavy industrial equipment sectors.
• Completion of technical vocational training or commensurate hands-on experience; a high school diploma is required, with additional technical education considered a strong asset.
• Proven ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and parts lists accurately.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude combined with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Capability to function autonomously with initiative while also thriving in a collaborative team-based environment.
• Physical readiness to undertake manual work including lifting, bending, and adaptability to varying environmental conditions typical in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities
• Assemble both mechanical and electrical components into complete, functional compressor systems, packages, and sub-assemblies following precise job travelers, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Utilize company PC systems to accurately complete and document work orders, maintaining traceability throughout the assembly process.
• Perform detailed mechanical assembly tasks including mounting of pressure stages, gearboxes, couplings, motors, piping systems, sensors, cabling, electrical cubicles, and control panels with exacting precision.
• Execute complex alignment and measurement activities such as gear backlash calibration and axial play positioning to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
• Connect compressors to testing consoles, operate automated test programs, diagnose issues via fault identification, troubleshoot effectively, and implement corrective actions promptly within set timelines.
• Apply specialized assembly materials and techniques including but not limited to Loctite adhesives, lubricants, sealants, and fastening protocols to guarantee durability and reliability.
• Conduct finalizing procedures such as equipment labeling, oil filling, preservation treatments, minor painting touch-ups, and preparation of products for safe packaging and shipment.
• Safely and skillfully operate basic machining and fitting tools including tapping, drilling, sawing, pressing, and filing as necessary to support assembly and finishing steps.
• Perform rigorous self-inspection to verify that all work meets safety standards, quality assurance measures, and performance criteria before progressing to the next stage.
• Document and report any deviations, bill of material discrepancies, and non-conformances with full transparency using designated company systems and official forms.
• Complete physical labor demands associated with the role, including but not limited to bending, lifting loads up to 50 pounds in line with company manual lifting guidelines, climbing, installing components, pulling assemblies, and other general assembly activities.
