Sanlo - Assembly Operator
Shift: 2nd Shift
Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Location: Sanlo Inc. - Michigan City, Indiana
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Measure and cut cable to required lengths.
Attach assembly components to cable.
Load and operate crimping equipment to secure assembly components.
Load and operate metal-forming die-cast equipment.
Load and operate hydroforming equipment.
Change machine dies at the start of new production runs.
Complete visual quality inspections on work-in-progress and finished products.
Measure and ensure dimensions of work-in-progress and finished products.
Operate pull-test equipment.
Complete first-piece inspections.
Record completion of production and quality checks on production logs.
Package completed work-in-progress and finished products.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and follow written and visual work instructions.
Ability to use and read calipers, micrometers, and tape measures in English and metric measurements.
Ability to use go/no-go gauges.
Understanding of decimal places when working with numbers.
Ability to operate a scale to complete weight counts.
Ability to operate hand- or foot-pedal-controlled equipment.
Ability to operate automated equipment using a PC controller.
Ability to use common hand tools, including wrenches, an Exacto knife, and a hammer.
Ability to hold components steady while inserting them into operating equipment.
Ability to count up to 100.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Physical Capabilities
Ability to perform fine-finger manipulation of small components.
Ability to frequently lift up to 15-20 pounds.
Ability to infrequently lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to visually identify fine details when completing quality inspections.
Ability to stand and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
