Asphalt Technician

Job Description:

The asphalt repair and sealing technician will be responsible for assisting a team in preparing job sites for street/parking lot maintenance and repair projects. The asphalt repair and sealing technician is an entry-level position that performs asphalt finishing and is responsible for the safety, set-up and maintenance of work sites. This position has promotion opportunities.

Competencies:

• Self-directed and self-motivated dynamic individual with strong work ethic
• Knowledge of tools, materials and equipment used in asphalt pavement resurfacing activities such as pothole operation, patching, shoveling and rolling asphalt mixtures
• Basic safety practices required for safe use of tools, materials and equipment
• Understand and follow verbal and written instruction in order to communicate with supervisors, co-workers and the public

Job Requirements:

• Previous asphalt/construction experience preferred but not required
• Must have excellent English verbal, writing and reading skills
• Must have a valid drivers license with clean driving record
• Must have a clean background check and pass drug screening prior to hire
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
