    Job Description:

    This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) ASOSU Accessibility & Health Coordinator for the ASOSU at Oregon State University (OSU).

    The ASOSU Accessibility & Health Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President's Policy Team to advocate for and support priorities aimed at improving tuition affordability, community livability, social justice, and other related priorities. This position’s service for the campus community carries a particular focus on accessibility & health, as well as supporting legislative advocacy with the Policy Team. This position will play a key role in shaping and advancing student-centered legislative and policy initiatives that address student wellbeing by addressing systemic barriers to physical and mental health care, disability access, resource navigation, and inclusive campus environments.

    Position Duties

    • Promote initiatives that expand the capacity and accessibility of mental health services for students;

    • Attend programs and events that are relevant to accessibility and health when applicable and able;

    • Plan and lead events and programs geared towards building community for students with disabilities;

    • Collaborate with the ASOSU President, Vice President, and Policy Team to organize advocacy on issues pertaining to accessibility and health as part of a broader set of policy priorities;

    • Must be a Corvallis campus-based student.

    • Maintenance of good academic and conduct standing and a cumulative and prior term 2.0 GPA.

    • Commitment to promoting and advancing diversity and creating an atmosphere of inclusion for all students and community members.

    • Communication skills in areas including but not limited to interpersonal, public speaking, digital, verbal, and written communications.

    • Organizational skills, including managing time and working accurately with interruptions to meet a deadline; delegating tasks, when applicable.

    • Working well under pressure, exercising exibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion.

    • Willingness to be adaptable, to accept changes and try new things.

    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

    • Experience or knowledge working with ASOSU, or other organizations focusing on student advocacy, campus involvement, diversity and inclusion, or other related areas.

    • Strong organizational skills and ability to delegate tasks.

    • Experience or knowledge in leading and directing individuals.

    • Experience or knowledge with project management and coordinating teams.

    15.55 - 19.03 - 22.50 USD Hourly
