Schedule

• Monday–Thursday: 4:30 PM – 2:30 AM
• Friday: 4:00 PM – 1:30 AM
• Saturday: As Needed | 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced ASME Welder to join a custom manufacturing and fabrication operation in Broken Arrow. This position is responsible for fitting, assembling, and welding custom bladder tanks, strainers, valve products, and related components in accordance with ASME requirements and company quality standards.

This is precision fabrication work involving custom-engineered components where watertight welds, dimensional accuracy, and strong craftsmanship are critical. The ideal candidate has experience with MIG and Flux Core welding, can confidently read fabrication drawings, and is capable of passing the required 3G weld test.

Required Experience & Skills

• Previous industrial or ASME welding experience preferred
• Strong MIG and Flux Core welding skills
• Ability to successfully complete the required 3G weld test
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and fabrication sketches
• Experience fitting, tacking, and welding fabricated components
• Ability to produce consistent, watertight welds
• Strong understanding of dimensional tolerances and fabrication quality
• Ability to accurately use squares, levels, tape measures, calipers, and related measuring tools
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Reliable attendance and ability to work the required second-shift schedule
• Safety-first approach to all welding and fabrication activities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assemble and weld custom bladder tanks, strainers, valve products, and related components
• Perform MIG and Flux Core welding according to ASME and company requirements
• Work with Sub Arc processes as production requirements dictate
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, fabrication sketches, and job specifications
• Fit and tack components prior to final welding
• Weld assemblies to precise dimensional tolerances
• Produce watertight welds that meet required quality standards
• Measure and verify dimensions using squares, levels, tapes, calipers, and other inspection tools
• Conduct visual inspections and quality checks before submitting completed work to QA
• Identify and correct welding, fit-up, or dimensional issues
• Operate grinders, torches, saws, and other fabrication equipment
• Perform basic welding equipment setup and minor maintenance
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production personnel to resolve fabrication issues
• Complete job documentation, material records, and time tracking accurately
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace according to 5S and Lean principles
• Assist with training junior Welders when required
• Participate in continuous improvement activities
• Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements

Weld Test Requirements

Candidates must successfully complete a 3G weld test consisting of:

• Downhill MIG Stringer
• Uphill Flux Core Fill and Cap
• Visual Inspection
• Bend Test

Completed welds must meet the required quality standards to qualify for the position.

ASME & Fabrication Responsibilities

This position requires a strong focus on:

• ASME welding requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous ASME fabrication experience
• Tank, vessel, strainer, or valve welding experience
• Experience producing watertight welds
• Advanced MIG and Flux Core experience
• Sub Arc welding experience
• Strong fitting and fabrication skills
• Experience with custom or engineer-to-order manufacturing
• Experience mentoring or training less-experienced Welders
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and working in various welding positions
• Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment while wearing required PPE
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for precision fabrication
• Comfortable working around steel, welding equipment, grinders, torches, heat, sparks, and industrial machinery
• Ability to perform physically demanding fabrication work throughout an extended shift

Work Environment

• Custom industrial welding and fabrication environment
• Regular work on bladder tanks, strainers, valves, and engineered components
• Hands-on use of MIG, Flux Core, Sub Arc, grinders, torches, saws, and measuring equipment
