Job Title: Aseptic Cleaning TechnicianJob Description

The Aseptic Cleaning Technician maintains the cleanliness and compliance of cleanroom facilities and adjacent controlled spaces in a regulated environment. This role follows strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) to support safe, reliable, and high-quality operations. The technician works on their feet for most of the shift, routinely gowns into cleanrooms, and collaborates closely with a team in a fast-paced, labor-intensive setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning of cleanroom facilities and adjacent controlled spaces according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies related to cleaning activities and appropriate behavior in a cleanroom environment.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals safely by correctly identifying chemicals, ensuring proper use and preparation, and following appropriate labeling and storage requirements.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment, gowning materials, and supplies within designated storage areas and locker rooms to ensure readiness and organization.
  • Adhere to all facility gowning requirements and demonstrate ongoing competence by successfully completing annual gowning qualifications.
  • Observe Good Documentation Practices (GDP) when recording data on controlled documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Remain professional at all times by working expected hours, completing required training, and demonstrating reliability and accountability.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks, share updates, and support a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
  • Use email, Microsoft Teams, and training software on a daily basis to receive instructions, complete training modules, and document work activities.
  • Support Cleaning Operations by performing additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to meet department needs.
  • Commit to working overtime, weekend, or holiday shifts when needed to support operational demands.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) consistently and accurately.
  • Comfort working in a cleanroom environment, including frequent gowning and garbing according to strict protocols.
  • Capability to perform labor-intensive tasks and remain on one's feet in an active role for the entirety of a shift.
  • Competence in safe chemical handling, including identifying chemicals, proper use and preparation, labeling, and storage.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) or willingness to learn and apply them.
  • Confidence using email and other computer programs, including Microsoft Teams and training software, on a daily basis.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and accurate documentation.
  • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Reliability and professionalism in meeting work schedules, training requirements, and performance expectations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior aseptic cleaning or laboratory sanitation experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience following SOPs in a regulated or controlled environment is preferred.
  • Experience gowning up and working inside cleanrooms is highly preferred.
  • Previous GMP experience is considered a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays if needed.
  • Interest in a long-term role with opportunities to grow within a diverse, team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

The work environment is a cleanroom and controlled space setting that emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compliance. The culture is very team oriented, with a diverse group of individuals working together to support growing operations. The role is physically active, and technicians spend most of the day on their feet and routinely gown up to enter cleanrooms. The dress code consists of casual lab attire, including closed-toe shoes, socks covering the ankles, khaki pants or jeans without holes, and shirts without graphics, with additional cleanroom gowning required inside controlled areas. The position operates on a second shift schedule from 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM, and may require occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday work to support operational needs.

This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
