Position: ASD Program Release Teacher Location: Multiple classrooms

Schedule: 2026-2027 School Year Salary: H.E.A. Master Agreement

The Huron School District is located in southeast Michigan. We are looking for a collaboratively minded team player who has high expectations for students and staff. Qualifications Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate Autism Spectrum Disorder (SV) endorsement, enrolled in an approved program, or willing to obtain this certification Understanding of ASD and Universal Strategies for Learning Understanding of Positive Behavior Supports Understanding of effective Data collection techniques START and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training preferred Understanding of MARSE and IDEA Understanding of and commitment to the Least Restrictive Environment Meet or exceed state and federal requirements for qualifications as a teacher Responsibilities & Duties Effective member of the IEP team Plans adapted elective or specials classes for students in the ASD Center Program Effectively deliver instruction, maintain classroom environment, prepare and plan for needs of students, and demonstrate professional responsibilities Maintain student records, lesson plans, attendance, performance, and progress Implement and evaluate individualized behavior management strategies and plans. Provide direction and support to assigned paraprofessional(s) Follow schedule outlined by the Special Education Supervisor Effectively work with parents, staff, and students in the Act 18 Center-Based Program Effectively collaborate with general and special education professionals Effective communication skills Must have regular, reliable, and punctual attendance and transportation Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and the Special Education Director
