    Job Description

    Job Description

This position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and is as-needed per-project with a flexible schedule.

    The Opportunity

Bradac Co is looking for an experienced Project Manager to represent our clients' interests on design and construction projects across the Bay Area. This is a chance to work directly with an independent, principal-led construction management firm on a flexible, per-project basis — ideal for a seasoned professional who wants meaningful project work without the constraints of a traditional full-time role.

You'll act as the owner's eyes, ears, and advocate — protecting their budget, schedule, and vision from pre-construction through closeout, while building the kind of trusted relationships that keep projects moving and clients coming back.

Requirements: 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably on both large, complex builds and smaller, fast-turnaround projects.

    What You'll Do...

Represent the owner's interests, start to finish

    • Serve as the primary point of accountability on behalf of the client, advocating for their priorities across the design and construction team
    • Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors to keep projects aligned with the client's vision, budget, and timeline
    • Attend and help run OAC (owner-architect-contractor) meetings, driving clear agendas, decisions, and follow-up

    Manage budget, schedule, and risk

    • Create and maintain detailed cost tracking spreadsheets, cash flow projections, and project schedules
    • Monitor progress against the approved program, budget, and schedule, and flag deviations early — before they become costly
    • Review and analyze contracts, proposals, change orders, and invoices for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation
    • Identify project risks proactively and develop practical solutions, escalating only when necessary

    Oversee quality and compliance

    • Review construction drawings, submittals, and project documents to confirm compliance with the client's requirements and contract terms
    • Hold the broader project team accountable for delivering to spec, on time, and on budget
    • Conduct site visits and walk-throughs to monitor progress and workmanship

    Coordinate people and moving parts

    • Serve as the coordination hub between the client's internal stakeholders, external consultants, and the project team for all build-out related tasks
    • Communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly and proactively to all parties
    • Support permitting, procurement, and vendor coordination as needed

What Makes You a Great Fit

    • Background in architecture, construction project management for a GC, or MEP engineering
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience building and tracking budgets and schedules
    • A communicator first — you write clearly, speak confidently, and know how to keep a room aligned
    • A proactive problem-solver who can manage multiple, multi-faceted projects at once without losing sight of the details
    • Comfortable working independently, but genuinely enjoy being part of a team
    • Solid grasp of construction industry best practices and standards
    • Sharp attention to detail and a real sense of ownership over client outcomes
    • Hungry to grow, take on more responsibility, and be challenged
