Title: AS/400 COBOL Developer
Locations: San Antonio, TX
Duration: 6 Months
Pay Range: $42 - $46/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)
Introduction
We are seeking a skilled developer to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and development of business-critical applications on the AS/400 platform. This role requires a deep understanding of legacy systems and the ability to integrate them with modern technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience with AS/400, COBOL, DB2, RPG/RPGLE, SQL, IBM iSeries.
- Deep understanding of DB2 databases, including data modeling and SQL performance tuning on the iSeries platform.
- Extensive experience in analyzing, debugging, and resolving complex batch processing and interactive application issues.
- Experience in continuous integration/deployment processes specific to the IBM i environment.
- Knowledge of Agile principles with experience in Scrum or Kanban.
- Prior work experience at client or in client's industry.
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional and modernization teams.
- Proficiency in standard MS Office tools.
- Familiarity with general office machines.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support AS/400 COBOL and RPG-based applications.
- Troubleshoot and tune advanced SQL performance issues.
- Integrate AS/400 applications with modern distributed systems.
