Abbotsford''s diverse student population, 4K-12, is approximately 800. This position is in the Middle School/High School teaching English.
Substitute teachers shall be employed at the rate established by the District. As of 4/20/2026 the rate of pay is as follows:
SUBSTITUTE TEACHER PAY SCHEDULE
2026-2027 (approved 4/2026)
Daily Rate $150.00
Long Term New Teacher Base Rate Long-term substitutes will be paid a prorated amount of $222.59/day, equivalent to the starting salary of a new teacher.
Long-term substitute teachers are not eligible for holiday pay since compensation is already included in the daily rate.
Any full-time or part-time employee that is serving as a long-term substitute teacher during any holiday is not eligible for holiday pay. Compensation is classified as a long-term substitute, not support staff, and therefore is compensated in that capacity.
Substitutes that meet the requirements for the Wisconsin Retirement System will be covered under WRS.
Part-time substitute teachers shall be paid on a prorated basis based off of the full daily rates set forth above. The substitutes' hourly rate shall be computed based on the number of periods per day in a building. (At the elementary level - 8 hours.)
A long-term substitute teacher is defined as any teaching assignment that lasts more than 10 consecutive days in one given position.
If a long-term substitute teacher does not meet the consecutive 10 day requirement, the compensation rate will default back to the daily rate for the amount of days subbed.
